Aprilia will organize a specialized plane to bring Jorge Martín back to Europe

Jorge Martín remains hospitalized in a hospital in Qatar receiving medical treatment after the crash in last Sunday’s race in Lusail.

His return to Europe does not yet have a set date, but plans are already underway.

Aprilia, the team he competes for, issued a press release on Thursday updating the condition of the 2024 champion. But they also discussed the next steps, including his transportation to Europe.

Thus, a specialized medical plane will be arranged for Martín: ‘Once the safest conditions have been established, an assisted return to Europe will then be organized’, it reads.

The Spaniard’s situation, with 11 fractured ribs and a hemopneumothorax, currently requires mechanical aspiration and drainage procedures, and afterwards his recovery will need to be supervised by a medical team, including pain management therapy, respiratory physiotherapy, and constant cardiovascular monitoring.
