Aprilia has launched the SXR GT range in India, bringing back its maxi-scooter line-up with 125cc and 175cc variants. Prices start at Rs 1.11 lakh, with both models featuring updated engines, 14-inch wheels and styling carried over from the earlier SXR scooters. Bookings have opened nationwide.
Aprilia SXR GT 125 and 175 prices
Aprilia SXR GT 125 hp-e is priced at Rs 1.11 lakh, while the SXR GT 175 hp-e costs Rs 1.31 lakh. The new range fills the gap left by the SXR 125 and SXR 160, which were discontinued in May without a confirmed replacement at the time.
Both scooters are based on the same platform as the corresponding SR 125 and SR 175 models.
Engine and performance
SXR GT 125 uses a 124.5cc, single-cylinder engine producing 10.6hp at 7,400rpm and 10.4Nm at 6,200rpm. The SXR GT 175 gets a 174.7cc air-cooled engine delivering 13.3hp at 7,200rpm and 14.1Nm at 6,000rpm.
Both engines comply with BS6 OBD-II Stage B norms and support E20 fuel.
14-inch wheels and updated features
Unlike the discontinued SXR scooters, which had 12-inch wheels, both SXR GT variants get 14-inch wheels. Aprilia says the larger wheels should improve stability and comfort.
The 175cc model features a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, music and call management, turn-by-turn navigation and handlebar-mounted controls. It also gets single-channel ABS and a revised exhaust end pipe with a heat shield.
SXR GT 125 gets LCD display and CBS
SXR GT 125 features a 5-inch LCD instrument cluster and a combined braking system (CBS). The 175cc model gets the more advanced TFT display and ABS, distinguishing the two variants in terms of equipment.
