Apple WWDC 2026 dates out, big AI updates and new Siri expected

New Delhi: Apple has officially locked in dates for its biggest developer event of the year. The company confirmed that WWDC 2026 will run from June 8 to June 12, with a mix of online sessions and a limited in-person gathering at Apple Park in Cupertino. The announcement puts focus back on Apple’s software roadmap at a time when AI is clearly becoming the centre of attention.

Apple has signalled a stronger push into artificial intelligence, something it kept relatively low-key last year. From what I’ve seen over the years, WWDC often sets the tone for Apple’s next big shift. And this time, AI seems front and centre.

WWDC 2026 dates, format, and access

WWDC 2026 will kick off with the keynote on June 8, followed by a full week of sessions and labs. Developers can join through the Apple Developer app or the Apple website, or via a YouTube livestream, and users in China can join via Bilibili.

Apple said the event will include “over 100 video sessions and interactive group labs and appointments.”

There will also be a special in-person event at Apple Park on day one, though space will be limited.

Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, said, “WWDC is one of the most exciting times for us at Apple because it’s a chance for our incredible global developer community to come together for an electrifying week that celebrates technology, innovation, and collaboration.”

AI is likely to take centre stage this year

Apple has already confirmed that the event will spotlight “AI advancements” along with updates across iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS.

Here’s what is being widely expected:

  • A revamped Siri with better context awareness
  • Deeper AI features across Apple apps
  • Updates to Apple’s on-device AI models
  • New tools for developers building AI apps

Last year, Apple focused more on design changes like its Liquid Glass interface.

There’s also growing chatter about Apple expanding its AI partnerships and tools inside Xcode. Earlier updates already brought AI coding tools into the mix.
