A few Apple iPhone 14 Plus users are reportedly facing some issues with the rear cameras. Following this, Apple has acknowledged the issue and announced a free repair program for a small batch of iPhone 14 Plus devices which are manufactured during the time period of April 10 2023 to April 28, 2024.
Few units manufactured during the above-mentioned period may experience a failure in displaying a preview, preventing users from seeing the scene before taking a photo or recording a video. The affected users will have this issue repaired for free.
How To Identify If Your iPhone 14 Plus Is Faulty?
The iPhone 14 Plus owners can identify the devices by checking the serial number checker on its website. Only specific units of the iPhone 14 Plus are eligible for this program. Do note that other models, including the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max, are not covered. The users can visit the Apple Service Centre after confirming the issue.
How to Get Your iPhone 14 Plus Repaired
The affected users can go to Apple Authorised Service Provider, or any Apple Retail Store, or mail their device for service through Apple’s website. However, before submitting your device, Apple has advised users to take a backup of the data via iCloud or a computer in order to prevent any data loss. If your device has cracked back glass or any other fault, it needs to be repaired first but will not be free.
Refunds Available For Past Repairs
The iPhone 14 Plus owners, who have paid for rear camera repair due to issues, can opt for a refund. The users are advised to contact Apple for more details. Do note that the repair program is available for users worldwide for up to three years after their original retail sale date.
