New Delhi: Apple has officially launched AirPods Pro 3, the first significant update to the premium earbuds in three years. The new model also affects health-orientated characteristics, though a built-in heart rate sensor and a substantial increase in the quality of sound and active noise cancellation can be identified. Apple redesigned ear tips, now using a foam-infused material, which Apple claims can suppress noise twice as well as the earlier generation.
Live translation, which is an Apple Intelligence feature, is another highlight, allowing the user to listen to real-time translations in their own language. Other features that Apple has enhanced to provide better comfort are the five-sized ear tip, smaller in-ear design and increased durability by making the iP57 sweat/water resistant. Preorders are on September 12; sales start September 19 in various markets, including India.
Key features and upgrades
The AirPods Pro 3 are equipped with the widened sound stage, Adaptive Transparency 2.0 that allows them to filter through non-occupancies that are suddenly loud, and have a battery life of up to 8 hours on one charge. The total listening time of the USB-C charging case is increased to 32 hours. The earbuds also have precision finding and better durability for daily use.
Health and wellness integration
The smallest optical heart rate sensor on Apple is embedded into the earbuds to provide continuous BPM measurements during exercise, a stress session, or just during normal activity. This information automatically links with the Apple Watch and the iPhone Health app, which makes the exercise more connected.
AirPods Pro 3 AI-powered translation
FaceTime, Apple Translate and select third-party apps have live translation built in perfectly. The feature reduces the volume of outside audio, translations appear on the fly and are directed at travellers, students and international professionals. This renders the AirPods Pro 3 more than an entertainment tool – making it a communication and productivity tool.
AirPods Pro 3 availability and pricing
AirPods Pro 3 will cost $249 in the US, and Indian prices will be verified during launch. Preorders begin on September 12 and become available on September 19. New AirPods capabilities are also being launched under iOS 26, such as camera remote control, studio-quality sound on some models and smarter sleep and charging capabilities.
