Four policemen were injured after seized firecrackers exploded at a police station in Challapalli, Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh on March 31, Tv9 Telugu reported.
Reports suggest that the explosion took place while police officials were examining explosive material that had been brought into the station.
The injured include an SI, police vehicle driver Durganjaneyulu, and two constables. They were immediately rushed to a local hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
The force of the blast damaged furniture inside the police station, as well as vehicles parked outside. Challapalli CI K.S. Rao arrived at the scene to inspect the site and is currently investigating the cause of the explosion.
State Home Minister Anita spoke to the District SP and said that the injured police personnel should be provided with advanced medical care.
