Anvay Dravid shone for the India U19 cricket team and slammed a half-century against Sri Lanka U19 in the second Youth ODI of the five-match series on Monday (July 6).
Coming out to bat at number five, Anvay slammed 87 off 67 balls as India U19 put on a total of 285 on the board. Batting with a strike rate of 129.85, Anvay hit nine fours and a six in his knock. He added 144 runs for the fifth wicket with Arun Rajput, who scored 76 off 81 balls. Courtesy of Anvay and Arjun’s heroics, India managed to breach the 250-run mark.
Anvay, who is a wicketkeeper-batter like his father, departed early in the first game and managed 14 off 19 balls. He scored his maiden half-century for India U19 in his third outing and will aim to continue his form.
Anvay Dravid wasn’t selected for 2026 U19 World Cup
Anvay Dravid missed out on making it to the 2026 U19 World Cup squad. He was selected in the India B squad for the U19 tri-series played before the junior World Cup. He only played one game in the series and wasn’t selected in the WC team. Anvay is 17 and he will be eligible to play in the 2028 U19 WC.
Anvay’s elder brother, Samit, is also a cricketer. He was named in the India U19 squad for the series against Australia in 2024 but missed out on making his debut due to an injury.
Rahul Dravid played and coached India U19

Rahul represented the India U19 cricket team before making it to the national team. He made his India debut in 1996. Dravid took up coaching after his retirement and joined the India U19 team as its head coach in 2016.
Dravid-coached India U19 made it to the final of the 2016 World Cup. They lost to West Indies in the final. In 2018, Dravid-coached India defeated Australia in the final to lift the title.
