3 people died and 3 were injured when lodge building collapsed in Kotma, Anuppur. CM Mohan Yadav has directed to provide Rs 9 lakh to the families of the deceased and financial assistance to the injured. Relief and rescue operations were carried out by NDRF-SDRF.
Bhopal. A major accident occurred due to the sudden collapse of a lodge building in Kotma area of Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh. In this tragic incident, 3 people died, while 3 others were injured. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire area after the incident.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav Relief Assistance: Financial help for the dead and injured
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has given instructions to provide financial assistance to the families of the citizens who lost their lives in the accident.
- Rs 4 lakh each from Chief Minister’s voluntary donation
- Rs 4-4 lakh under Sambal Yojana
- Rs 1 lakh each from Red Cross
Thus, a total assistance of Rs 9 lakh will be given to the family of each deceased. Assistance has also been earmarked for the injured:
- Rs 2 lakh each from Chief Minister’s voluntary donation
- 50-50 thousand rupees from Red Cross
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s condolences and prayers
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav prayed for peace of the departed souls and wished to give strength to the bereaved families to bear this loss. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and assured that the state government is with every affected family.
Treatment of injured: Treatment continues in Medical College and Health Center
Among those injured in the accident, the seriously injured persons have been sent to Shahdol Medical College for better treatment, where a team of specialist doctors is looking after them. Treatment of other injured is continuing at the Community Health Center of Kotma.
Rescue operation: NDRF-SDRF teams took charge
The rescue operation, which started on Saturday evening, continued till Sunday afternoon. Teams of NDRF, SDRF, local police, administration and SECL worked together in the rescue work. A thorough search of the debris was conducted with the help of modern machines and dog squad. The rescue team pulled out 3 people safely, while bodies of 3 people were recovered.
Identification of the dead and administrative action
The deceased in the accident have been identified as Hanuman Deen Yadav, Ramkripal Yadav and another local resident. The administration has initiated all necessary legal and relief procedures.
Minister and administration on the spot: Relief work went on all night
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, District Incharge Minister Shri Dilip Ahirwar and Cottage and Village Industries Minister Shri Dilip Jaiswal remained present at the incident site throughout the night and led the relief and rescue operations. The minister in charge said that an impartial investigation will be conducted into this incident so that such accidents can be avoided in future.
