Anup Soni Shares Deleted ‘Shaque’ Scenes, Says Leaving Out Sequences Is Part of Filmmaking

Actor Anup Soni has shared a glimpse of action sequences featuring his character, Inspector Khurana, in the mystery thriller Shaque: Trust No One that did not make it to the final cut, expressing disappointment over the omission while acknowledging that such decisions are part of the filmmaking process.

Soni took to his official Instagram account on Saturday to post three videos featuring scenes he had shot for the series but which were ultimately left out of the final version.

In his caption, the actor highlighted the effort, time and resources invested in creating such sequences, with contributions from writers, directors, action choreographers, actors, cinematographers, producers and the wider crew.

“A few sequences of Khurana Saab from SHAQUE that didn’t make it to the final version… A lot of thought, time, effort and resources go into creating these sequences, with the writers, director, action choreographers, actors, cinematographer, producer and the entire crew contributing to the process,” Soni wrote.

He acknowledged that seeing a sequence excluded could be disappointing, particularly after the team had worked hard to bring it to life. However, he said the overall narrative must take priority over individual scenes.

“There can be a little disappointment when a sequence doesn’t make the final cut, but filmmaking is about the larger picture, and sometimes, leaving something out serves the story better. It’s all part of the process,” he added.

Meanwhile, actor Tahir Raj Bhasin, who plays Alok in Shaque, recently spoke about working with director Rensil D’Silva, describing him as a calm and composed person despite the intense content he creates.

Speaking to IANS in an interview alongside Parineeti Chopra and Soni Razdan, Bhasin praised the director’s ability to develop ensemble characters and give each one a distinct journey throughout a series.

“The beauty of working with him is that anyone who has interacted with him will tell you that he is the definition of calm and chill. So, Rensil D’Silva is not an intense person himself,” Bhasin said.

Reflecting on D’Silva’s work, he cited Rang De Basanti, describing the film as a cult classic for his generation. He said he found a similar strength in the writing of Shaque, particularly in the way each character develops over the course of the series.
