Anuj Agnihotri has secured All India Rank 1 in UPSC CSE 2025. Anuj, who did MBBS from AIIMS Jodhpur, achieved this success in the third attempt. The inspiration of service he got from his mother and hard work of 13 hours every day made him the topper of the country.
Who is Anuj Agnihotri: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the results of the Civil Services Examination 2025 (CSE 2025) on Friday, March 6, 2026. Anuj Agnihotri performed brilliantly in this examination and achieved All India Rank 1 (AIR-1). 25-year-old Anuj cited his mother as the biggest inspiration behind his success. He said that his main goal has been to serve the people and bring positive change in the society.
Got inspiration for service from mother
Anuj Agnihotri, resident of Rawatbhata in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, says that since childhood, his mother inspired him to work for the society. He said, serving people and bringing positive change around us is the inspiration I got from my mother. That inspiration helped me reach this point.
Studied MBBS from AIIMS Jodhpur
Anuj has studied MBBS from AIIMS, Jodhpur. He started medical studies in the year 2017. Although, initially he did not know the clear goal of his career, but it was clear in his mind that he had to do such work which would have a positive impact on a large section of the society.

The goal of serving the people became the path of civil service.
Anuj told that during his medical studies, he realized that to bring a big change in the society, not only desire but also a strong administrative role is necessary. He said, initially I did not know the clear purpose of my life. But I definitely knew that I wanted to serve people and impact a large section of the society with my work.
Passed UTCS exam in first attempt
Anuj had passed the Union Territories Civil Services (UTCS) examination in his first attempt in 2023. At present he is working on the post of SDM in Delhi during probation period. Recalling the moment when he passed the UTCS exam, he could not believe his success.
Anuj cried with joy after hearing the news of success
Anuj told that when he got the news of passing the UTCS exam, he became very emotional. He said, the day I cleared UTCS, I couldn’t believe myself. I went to my room, closed the door and cried happily for about half an hour.
UPSC preparation continued with training
Even during SDM training, Anuj continued preparing for UPSC Civil Services Examination. Due to continuous hard work and discipline, he finally secured first position in the country in UPSC CSE 2025.
Father told the secret of son’s hard work
Anuj’s father Krishna Bihari is a technician at Rajasthan Atomic Power Station. He told that this was Anuj’s third attempt and he never took the help of any coaching center. The father said, he did all the preparations himself. All this is the result of his hard work and dedication. He used to study for about 13 hours every day. Today we are very proud of our son. I am confident that he will become one of the best IAS officers of the country.
