How to Make Perfect Annakut Sabji: On the day of Govardhan Puja, Annakut is prepared and offered to Lord Shri Krishna. Annakut means “a grand offering made of all types of grains and vegetables”. Annakoot is an important offering to Lord Shri Krishna, some precautions are very important while making it, so that this worship and offering becomes completely sacred and virtuous. Often people commit some common mistakes while making it unknowingly, due to which the offering becomes impure and vengeful. In such a situation, today we will tell you the correct method of making Annakoot, ingredients, which vegetables should not be added, what mistakes should not be made.

Ingredients for making Annakoot

  • Rice, Moong Dal, Urad Dal, Arhar Dal, Wheat or Barley
  • Vegetables-carrots, peas, brinjal, gourd, parwal, pumpkin, tinda etc.
  • green coriander, mint
  • Spices – turmeric, coriander powder, light salt, green chilli
  • pure ghee

Correct recipe for making Annakoot (Step-by-Step Process)

  • Soak rice and pulses in water for 1–2 hours.
  • Wash and cut carrots, bottle gourd, parwal, tinda, brinjal etc.
  • Put some ghee in a pan and fry it lightly or steam it.
  • Keep in mind that the vegetables should be soft but not mushy.
  • Now boil the dal and rice in a separate vessel. You can add light salt.
  • After cooking, add turmeric, coriander powder, green chilli and some ghee.
  • Make sure that the spices should not be too spicy or heavy, so that the taste of Annakoot remains balanced.
  • Slowly mix the cooked grains and pulses with the vegetables.
  • Stir the mixture well so that everything gets mixed together.
  • Sprinkle green coriander and mint on top.
  • Offer it to God during puja.
