Bollywood actor is celebrating the birth anniversary of his late father, Surinder Kapoor, today, December 23. Taking to his social media handle, the actor expressed his gratitude and credited his father as the reason behind his dream of becoming a leading man.
He also shared nostalgic pictures, noting that he deeply feels his father’s absence. Fellow actor Riteish Deshmukh reacted to the post as well, paying tribute to the late filmmaker.
Anil Kapoor shares gratitude to late father on 100 years birth anniversary
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Anil Kapoor shared a series of pictures on the occasion of his father’s 100th birth anniversary. Along with this, he expressed gratitude and sincere regards while calling him the reason for making him ‘dream of becoming a leading man.’
He mentioned, “Celebrating 100 years of my father today. He was the reason I first dreamed of becoming a leading man, simply hoping he would one day see me as a star, a successful actor making films under his banner.”
Along with this, he wrote, “I feel his absense deeply, but his dreams and lessons live on with me every day… Happy Birthday Papa! You were, are and always will be my guiding star…”

For the unversed, Surinder Kapoor was a veteran film producer known for his films like Loafer, Judaai and Pukar. He has also servesd as a president of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India for a period of six years, from 1995 to 2001. He passed away on September 24, 2011 following a cardiac arrest.
