Delhi High Court.
Industrialist Anil Ambani’s son Jai Anmol Ambani has received a big blow from the Delhi High Court. The court has refused to grant an interim stay on the show cause notice sent by Union Bank of India to Jai Anmol Ambani. While hearing the petition seeking a stay, Justice Jasmeet Kaur said that he cannot intervene at this stage.
Delhi High Court has directed the director of Reliance Home Finance Limited (RHFL) and son of industrialist Anil Ambani to file a reply before the bank within 10 days. The court clarified that the effect of any interim order issued by the bank will depend on the order passed in the present petition.
Reply to the notice Jai Anmol Ambani- Court
The court has asked Jai Anmol Ambani to reply to the show cause notice. The court said that you present your arguments, they will answer whatever you have to say. We will not stop the show cause notice of the bank. The court has also asked the bank to present a detailed order in this regard.
During the hearing of the case, the lawyer appearing on behalf of Jai Anmol Ambani’s son argued that there were mistakes in the notice issued by the bank on December 22, 2025. It was argued by the lawyer that this scheme has already been approved by all the lending banks as well as the Supreme Court. In such a situation, no allegation of fraud can be made against the company.
Jai Anmol’s lawyer’s arguments did not work
At the same time, it was argued on behalf of Jai Anmol Ambani that the bank had information related to the year 2020 itself, hence issuing notice after five years is against the law.
At the same time, the lawyer appearing on behalf of the bank has argued that he opposed the petition. The lawyer of the bank has said that the jurisdiction of the court was limited while issuing the show cause notice. On this, the judge questioned the bank’s lawyer as to how the show cause notice was issued after the resolution plan was approved under the bankruptcy law. The court has also said that the objections of the petitioner should also be considered.
