Business man Anil Ambani’s company Reliance Power announced a big deal on Monday, in which it has decided to sell its 100% stake in five coal companies in Indonesia for $ 1.2 million for about Rs 100 crore. The company said in a regulatory filing that its two subsidiaries, Reliance Power Netherlands Biwi and Reliance Natural Resources (Singapore) Private Limited, have entered into a share purchase agreement with Biotterster (Singapore) Private Limited for the deal.
Anil Ambani’s company Reliance Power said that the five Indonesian companies have sold their stake. The company has decided to sell all its stake in PT Avnish Coal Resources, PT Hermba Coal Resources, PT Sumukha Coal Services, PT Brian Bintang Tiga Energy and PT Srivijay Bintang Tiga Energy Company. The agreement was signed on 29 September 2025, and the company says that the deal will be completed by 30 December 2025, provided some necessary conditions are met. On the completion of the deal, Reliance Power will get the full amount of $ 12 million.
How much did these companies contribute?
Reliance Power said that these Indonesian subsidiaries did not earn any income in the last financial year (2024-25). Their total assets of Reliance Power were only 0.53% of the consolidated net property of Rs 16,909 lakh. That is, these companies were not very important for Reliance Power.
Is this deal under a particular rule?
The company made it clear that the buyer, Biotterster (Singapore) Private Limited, had no connection with the promoter group of Reliance Power. This deal is not a related party transaction. Also, the deal is not part of the sale or system scheme of the recession under Rule 37A of the listing obligations of SEBI and the disclosure requirements (LODR).
