Businessman Anil Aggarwal remembered his late son Agnivesh by describing his vision of a self-reliant India. In his post on

Anil Aggarwal wrote, “We dreamed of ensuring that no child sleeps hungry, no child is denied education, every woman stands on her own feet and every young Indian has meaningful work. I promised Agni that we would give back more than 75% of what we earn to society. Today, I pledge to live a more simple life by repeating that promise.”

Anil Aggarwal wrote, Agnivesh had deep faith in making a self-reliant India. He often used to say, ‘Papa, as a country we do not lack anything. Then why should we ever lag behind?’ Let us tell you that Agnivesh suffered serious injuries after an accident while skiing in America. After this he was admitted to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. During treatment, Agnivesh suffered cardiac arrest, after which he died.

Saddened by the demise of his son, Anil Aggarwal said, today is the saddest day of my life. My beloved son, Agnivesh left us too soon. He was just 49 years old, healthy, full of life and dreams. After a skiing accident in America, he was recovering. But fate had something else in mind and destiny took away our son from us.

Let us tell you that Agnivesh is married to Pooja Bangur, daughter of Hari Mohan Bangur, a well-known businessman of West Bengal and managing director of Shree Cement. Pooja’s grandfather Venugopal Bangur has been among the richest people in the country.
