Khatu Shyamji Controversy: Local people are aggressive to create new gates in Khatu Shyamji, preparation for big protests today. The administration and police failed to calm the dispute. People consider the gate to be guarded on independent movement, the situation is tense.
Khatu Shyamji Gate Protest: A crowd of devotees is always in the discussion in the famous Aastha Dham Khatushyamji of Rajasthan, but this time the reason for the discussion is not devotion but opposition. Local people have come out on the road with the proposed permanent gate to be installed at the busiest hospital intersection in the town. They allege that this gate will lock their independent movement in the name of ‘system’.
Crowd control or civilian restrictions?
The administration says that traffic jams and stampede are created due to millions of devotees coming to the temple throughout the year. To prevent this, it is planned to install two dozen gates, of which the hospital intersection gate is the most important. But local residents say that this step will make them ‘prisoners’ in their own town. They are afraid that this gate will always be engaged, not only during the fair days, which will have a big problem in school, hospital and everyday functioning.
Warning of devotees of Khatushyam ji
- The villagers shouted slogans at the crossroads last night. Business Board and local BJP leader Mukesh Ramuka also submitted a memorandum to the collector and warned – if the work of the gate did not stop, the movement will be fierce. Young leader Sanjay Tiwari called it a ‘insistence of administration’ and said, “This gate is a conspiracy to capture people in the name of safety of devotees.”
- Police officer Pawan Choubey reached the spot and tried to convince the people, but the meeting which lasted till late night was inconclusive. The villagers are preparing for a big demonstration today, while the administration is still silent.
Will the conflict between system and freedom increase in Khatu?
Now everyone’s eyes are on today’s proposed big performance. The question is whether this dispute will be limited to the security system of the temple, or will there be a big struggle between the faith of the devotees and the freedom of the local people?
