Actor Aneet Padda has revealed that she filmed her upcoming crime and justice drama ‘Hunkkaar – The Roar’ before ‘Saiyaara’, the 2025 film that became a major turning point in her career.
Sharing the teaser of the upcoming series on social media, Padda said the project had remained an important part of her professional journey and expressed happiness at finally being able to introduce it to audiences.
“Presenting a little something I shot before Saiyaara. Hunkkaar has been a part of my journey for a while, and I’m glad to finally share it with you all. Nahi hoga insaaf ka intezaar, bas goonjegi sachhai ki Hunkkaar,” she wrote.
In ‘Hunkkaar – The Roar’, Padda plays Meenu Rawat, an assault survivor whose allegation sets the story in motion. Fatima Sana Shaikh plays a no-nonsense police officer investigating the case and determined to pursue justice.
The teaser opens with Padda’s character at a police station. Meenu identifies herself as a 17-year-old student at Mahasherni School at Baapji’s Shaburi Fort before making a serious allegation of sexual assault against Baapji.
As the investigation unfolds, the teaser hints at the mystery surrounding Baapji and the influential forces linked to him. The series explores crime, power and the pursuit of justice, with a woman’s fight for truth at its centre.
The ensemble cast also includes Ram Kapoor, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, Arjun Mathur and Zoya Hussain.
Produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment in association with Purple Pebble Pictures, the series is a Mangata Films Production. It has been created by Karan D Kapadia and Nitya Mehra, with Kapadia, Mehra and Heeraz Marfatia serving as directors.
‘Hunkkaar – The Roar’ will begin streaming on JioHotstar on September 25.
Padda made her acting debut with a brief appearance in the 2022 film ‘Salaam Venky’, starring Kajol. She subsequently landed her first major role in the 2024 Amazon Prime Video series ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, followed by an appearance in the television show ‘Yuva Sapno Ka Safar’ in 2025.
Her career gained significant momentum with Mohit Suri’s ‘Saiyaara’, which emerged as a major milestone for the actor.
