Andrea Iannone has not lost his provocative and confident tone when evaluating his career rivals. In an interview with Supernova, hosted by Alessandro Cattelan, the Italian rider revealed his preferences and comparisons among motorcycle racing legends.
‘Dani Pedrosa was faster than Andrea Dovizioso. Between Lorenzo and Stoner, I’d choose Lorenzo. Between Rossi and Márquez, I go for Márquez. And between Márquez and me… me!’, Iannone stated, with his trademark ironic grin and casual tone. The remark didn’t go unnoticed by fans.
Iannone’s confidence has always defined him-both in MotoGP and now in Superbikes. Despite not clinching titles at the level of some of the riders he mentioned, he consistently proved competitive, especially during his years with Ducati and Suzuki.
According to the Italian, raw talent can’t simply be measured by statistics. ‘For me, speed is about feeling and instinct. And in that respect, I’ve always felt on par with the best’, he claimed bluntly.
This interview was aired on Supernova, where Iannone shared insights and anecdotes from his career.
