This community has been part of Nitish Kumar’s EBC policies and BJP’s social engineering due to being socially and economically backward.
In this way, the Nishad community has some participation in most of the districts of Bihar, but their effect is mainly in the districts of North and East Bihar. In districts like Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Bhagalpur and Khagaria, Nishad settlements settled on the banks of rivers decide political equations. Talking about the assembly seats, Nishad voters dominate seats like Hajipur, Maharajganj, Sugauli, Kalyanpur and Bari. In the 2020 election, the Vikas Human Party (VIP), called the party of Nishad, won four seats which is evidence of their growing power. It is believed that in the year 2025 elections, Nishad voters can be decisive again on these seats. In the race for power in Bihar, the important player Nishad Party won the 2020 elections on Raniganj, Jale, Murliganj and Simri Bakhtiyarpur seats. In the 2025 elections, the role of Nishad voters will be important in these seats, especially in a thorn in a thorn in a thorn.
