Amour Assembly Election 2025: Amour assembly seat is an area of Purnia district which falls in Kishanganj Lok Sabha constituency. This seat has always been in the headlines in Bihar politics because it has the highest number of Muslim voters. This is the reason why this seat becomes very important in every election. Congress has had a long dominance on this seat and till now the party has won from here eight times. But in 2020, AIMIM created history here and Akhtarul Iman surprised everyone by registering a landslide victory. Now the 2025 elections are making this seat even more interesting.
Electoral history of Amour Assembly
- In 2010, Saba Zafar of BJP won by defeating Congress.
- In 2015, Abdul Jalil Mastan of Congress created a record of becoming MLA for the sixth time by winning by more than 1 lakh votes.
- In 2020, Akhtarul Iman of AIMIM won in a big upset by getting 94,459 votes.
Note : From here till now Congress has won 8 times, while BJP and AIMIM have also got the taste of victory.

- 2. Saba Zafar (JDU) – 41,944 votes
- 3. Abdul Jalil Mastan (INC)-31,863 votes
AIMIM It won here for the first time and left Congress and JDU behind.
Note: Eight criminal cases are registered against Akhtarul Iman. Postgraduate Akhtarul has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 74,14,055. He also has a loan of Rs 7,99,235.

- 2. Saba Zafar (BJP)-48,138 votes
- Congress registered a big victory.
2010 election
- 1. Saba Zafar (BJP)-57,774 votes
- 2. Abdul Jalil Mastan (INC) – 38,946 votes
- BJP hoisted the flag here for the first time.
Why is Amour assembly seat special?
- 1. Muslim dominated seat, hence vote bank plays an important role.
- 2. There is also a sizeable number of Yadavs and other communities.
