The ordnance manufacturing companies in several states cancelled the long leaves of the employees to meet the production target amid growing tension with Pakistan after Pahalgam terror attack.
The companies stated that the decision was taken to ensure that the backlogs and the production target for the current month is achieved. While providing details, the companies stated that the leaves of more than two days have been cancelled for the officers and the employees.
Jabalpur Ordnance Factory Cancels Long Leaves
The Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK) of Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district on Saturday announced that the extended leaves have been cancelled to meet the production targets. More than 4,000 employees work in this factory and it is one of the biggest units of Munitions India Limited (MIL). “The leave of more than two days of officers and employees has been cancelled with immediate effect to meet the production target,” OFK PRO Avinash Shankar was quoted as saying by PTI.
“Since our target of this fiscal is huge and in April, we haven’t achieved our desired target, therefore, to compensate for it we have been directed by the HQ to cancel leave so that we have sufficient workforce and supervision,” he added.
Maharashtra Ordnance Factory Cancels Leaves
Apart from this, Ordnance Factory in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district also cancelled the leaves of the employees with immediate effect. The advisory instructed the employees to report for the duty at the earliest, citing emergency situation.
“In accordance with the directions received from the Chairman and Managing Director, Munitions India Limited, it is hereby informed that all kinds of leave (including Earned Leave, Casual Leave, and any other sanctioned leave) stand cancelled with immediate effect until further orders,” the Chief General Manager stated in an order. These firms have urged the staffs to cooperate to meet the production targets.
