Ingredients of Amla Laddu

  • 2 cups grated fresh amla
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • 3-4 spoons desi ghee
  • 1/2 cup coconut powder
  • 1/2 cup dry fruit powder (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1–2 teaspoons walnuts/chironji (optional)

Amla Laddu Recipe (Step-by-Step Recipe)

1. Prepare Amla

Grate the gooseberry and fry it on low flame for 5-7 minutes so that its bitterness reduces.

2. Jaggery syrup

Heat some ghee in a pan and add jaggery to it and melt it. Keep in mind – do not heat the jaggery too much, just melt it.

3. Mix Amla and Coconut

Now add roasted amla, coconut powder and dry fruit powder to the melted jaggery and mix well.

4. Add cardamom to enhance taste

Add cardamom powder and cook the mixture on low flame for 2–3 minutes.

5. Make laddus

Switch off the gas. When the mixture cools down a bit, apply ghee on your hands and make small round laddus.
