Amit Shah leads BJP’s ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ march in Hyderabad

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday led the BJP’s ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ march in Hyderabad, which witnessed a massive gathering of party workers and supporters amid the ongoing political confrontation between the BJP and the Opposition over allegations of irregularities in the ongoing SIR exercise.

A large number of BJP workers and supporters participated in the march, with party flags prominently displayed throughout the procession. Several participants were also seen carrying large photographs and portraits of Amit Shah, reflecting the enthusiasm among party workers during the event.

The march witnessed participation from a large number of BJP supporters, who gathered to express their support for the party’s campaign. The procession moved through the streets of Hyderabad, with participants raising slogans and carrying party flags and banners.

Heavy security arrangements were put in place along the route, with security personnel deployed at various locations to maintain law and order and ensure the smooth conduct of the procession.

The BJP has launched the nationwide ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ campaign as a counter to the opposition’s allegations and campaign against the party. As part of the programme in Hyderabad, Shah is scheduled to lead a padyatra, with party leaders and workers expected to participate. The Union Home Minister’s visit is expected to galvanise the state BJP cadre as the party intensifies its political offensive against the Congress administration in Telangana.

The state BJP had earlier erected large welcome displays for its ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ march spanning from Nizam College to MJ Market in Nampally.

The BJP’s march comes a day after Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a mega rally organised by the INDIA bloc at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, said that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar would be removed from his post and jailed, while accusing him of facilitating alleged vote theft in the country.

Addressing the gathering on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi asserted that action would be taken against the Chief Election Commissioner and claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah would not have reached their respective positions without him.

“Listen to me. What I say always turns out to be true, doesn’t it? I am telling every citizen and every youth of India: Gyanesh Kumar will be removed from the post of Chief Election Commissioner. Gyanesh Kumar will go to jail. Without Gyanesh Kumar, neither Narendra Modi would have become Prime Minister nor Amit Shah would have become Home Minister,” he said.

INDIA bloc leaders, including Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, attended the rally organised against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Top Opposition leaders and supporters from across the country gathered at the venue for the INDIA bloc’s ‘Chalo Delhi’ protest march, raising concerns over the SIR exercise and alleged irregularities in electoral rolls.
The march began from the Minto Road-Connaught Place junction and proceeded towards Ramlila Maidan. The gathering followed a public “impeachment” programme against the CEC held in the national capital on October 31.
