PM Modi and UAE President expressed concern over the increasing tension in the Middle East over the phone. The two leaders agreed to work together for maritime security and peace in the region.
Abu Dhabi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan have expressed concern over the increasing security threats and atmosphere of tension in the Middle East. There was a phone conversation between the two leaders. Before the upcoming Eid, both of them congratulated each other and talked in detail about stability in the region as well as maritime security.
PM Modi wrote on social media platform This conversation reflects the deep bilateral relations between the two countries. India strongly condemned the attacks on civilian targets in UAE. Modi clearly said that loss of innocent lives and damage to infrastructure cannot be tolerated.
The two leaders stressed the importance of ensuring safe and unhindered movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. This route is an important route for energy supply across the world. Both reiterated that India and UAE will work together to establish peace and security in the Middle East as soon as possible. The Gulf region is very important for India in terms of energy imports and security of millions of Indians living there. Since the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed in 2022, cooperation between India and UAE in areas like trade, defense and technology has increased significantly.
