Amid workload monitoring, Jasprit Bumrah checks in at BCCI CoE ahead of IPL 2026

New Delhi: Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has reported at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE), in Bengaluru for workload management ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. As per a report in ESPNcricinfo, the ace pacer is at the CoE to work mainly on his strength and conditioning ahead of the 19th edition of the cash-rich league.

The IPL 2026 begins on March 28 and having understood Bumrah’s work pressure in the recently-concluded T20 World Cup 2026, it becomes imperative for the premium bowler to revive and rejuvenate ahead of the another hectic two-month long tournament. The report further mentions that the plan for Bumrah to work at the CoE has been devise by the BCCI medical team with the focus on India’s white-ball tour of England in July.

India will tour England after 3 months roughly to play a white-ball series which will comprise five T20Is and three ODI matches. The pace spearhead is expected to continue bowling at the CoE and will join his franchise Mumbai Indians soon to gear up for their first match of the IPL 2026. MI will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in a home game at the Wankhede stadium on March 29, a day after the IPL 2026 begins.

Bumrah played a pivotal role in India’s T20 World Cup final win against New Zealand by 96 runs as he claimed figures of 4 for 15 in four overs to emerge as the standout performer. In his IPL career, Bumrah has claimed a total of 186 wickets in 148 matches and is just 9 wickets away from MI’s leading wicket taker Lasith Malinga.
