New Delhi: The Centre on Tuesday extended its flagship export incentive scheme, the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Products (RoDTEP), until March 2026, as per the ciruclar issued by Union Commerce Ministry.
The RoDTEP scheme is a scheme that promotes exporters and compensates them for various central, state, and local taxes, duties, and levies that are not refunded under any other programme but are incurred during the production and supply of export goods.
The scheme was slated to end on September 30. However after the prolonged demands from exporters who wished to seek relief after the implementation of US tariffs in some cases as high as 50 percent on Indian export items like that on textiles, leather, and food products.
At present the benefits of RoDTEP apply to more than 10000 products across sectors like agriculture, textiles, and engineering. The scheme offers rebates ranging from 1 percent to 4 percent of product value to offset unremitted taxes.
