PM Narendra Modi Inaugurarates Maruti Suzuki Battery: Maruti Suzuki has started making lithium-ion batteries and electrodes in India. All this has happened when India has been imposed 50 percent tariff on India.
Tariff vs made in india: Maruti Suzuki has started production of lithium-ion batteries and electrodes in India. These batteries made in association with Toshiba and Denso will be prepared at the Maruti Suzuki plant in Hansalpur in Gujarat. This desi production of the hybrid battery electrode was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. It is the joint venture of Toshiba, Denso and Suzuki. Suzuki Motor Corporation President and Representative Director Toshihiro Suzuki and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel were also present at the inauguration ceremony. On this occasion, Modi ji said that now “Made in India” will be written on electric vehicles running in many countries of the world. He further said that this launch took place with Ganeshotsav and strengthens the “Make in India” campaign. Suzuki’s first global strategic battery will be formed in Electric Vehicle (BEV), E-Vitara, India and exported to more than 100 countries, including developed markets such as Europe and Japan. This was done by PM Narendra Modi when there is a dispute between India and the US over tariffs.
The Prime Minister said that this day deepens the friendship between India and Japan. He praised Japan and Suzuki company and said that the foundation of India’s success was laid about 13 years ago. Modi ji said that when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2012, he gave land to Maruti Suzuki in Hansalpur. The vision of that time was “self -sufficient India” and “Make in India”. He said that our efforts of that time in fulfilling the resolutions of the country today are very useful. Since starting in 2021, TDSG has been making 18 million sale every year and has so far supplied battery packs to more than 1 million vehicles. The company is now planning to increase the capacity of 12 million sales every year.
Prime Minister Modi flagged off Maruti Suzuki’s first global electric car from Hansalpur plant. This new battery electric vehicle (BEV) will not use a new cell. But they will be used in many hybrid trains including Involto hybrid ambulance. The e-Vitara will come with two battery capacity in the International Market. This is Maruti Suzuki’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV). It will be a global product and will be exported to 100 countries.
