‘Some books arrive exactly when they are meant to’
In multiple slides he wrote, “The timing is hard to ignore. I turned to chapter 1 – ‘Never outshine the master’. Some books arrive exactly when they are meant to.”
The 37-year-old was removed by AAP as its deputy leader from the Upper House of the Parliament after months of frosty ties. The party in a letter to Rajya Sabha secretariat urged it not to give him time to speak on its behalf.
The party leader have accused the MP from Punjab of engaging in “soft PR” and “shying away” from speaking against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On receiving end from party colleagues
Leaders including Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann, Sanjay Singh, Atishi have accused him of deviating from party line and not sharing issues related to the state.
“Raghav Chadha was elected to the Rajya Sabha by Punjab’s MLAs with the expectation that he would strongly represent the state’s concerns at the national level. However, he completely avoided raising even a single sensitive issue related to Punjab,” Punjab minister Harpal Singh Cheema said.
Chadha, meanwhile, has been hitting back at these leaders in video messages. Captioned “Picture Abhi Baaki Hai” he on Sunday shared a video showing the issues that he raised for Punjab in Rajya Sabha.
‘Scripted campaign to attack me’
He has also accused the party of launching a scripted campaign and a coordinated attack at him.
Chadha’s absence from major party activities and his silence on developments such as the clean chit to Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leader Manish Sisodia had sparked speculation.
He is not the first AAP MP to fall out with the party. Earlier Swati Maliwal had alleged that she was assaulted at Kejriwal’s residence.
