Amid ODI retirement rumours, Virat Kohli resumes practice in London

New Delhi: Amid rumours of retirement from ODI format, star Indian batter Virat Kohli has started practicing for return to the field. Kohli, on Friday, took to social media handle Instagram sharing a photo from his training session in London.

For the training session, Kohli took help of  Gujarat Titans’ assistant coach Naeem Amin in what seemed to be an indoor net session. After the session, Kohli posted a photo of himself with coach and thanked him for helping out. He further wrote that he always feels lovely to see him.

‘Thanks for helping out with the hit, brother. Always lovely to see you,’ Kohli wrote on his Instagram story.

The former Indian captain looked absolutely fit and ready in a grey t-shirt and blue trousers. This was one of the first sessions of Kohli before his anticipated comeback to competitive cricket. On the other hand, the update from Kohli came just hours after a photo of the star Indian batter with grey beard went viral on social media, leaving his fans worried.

Kohli to take part in Australia series

Kohli, who has been in London from some time, posed with a fan for a photograph and the attention was drawn to his salt and pepper look with grey having more prominence. During the training session as well, Kohli was seen in the same style. The Delhi batter is expected to be a part of the Indian squad for the ODI series in Australia from October 19 to 25. His return was delayed after the Bangladesh series, schedule in August, was cancelled.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru star last played competitive cricket in June, during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final against Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad. Kohli’s match-winning knock helped RCB claim their maiden IPL trophy.
