Amid Middle East tension, traveling to Europe suddenly becomes expensive, prices double

If you are dreaming of spending a holiday in Paris this year, your budget may increase much more than before. There has been a big jump in the prices of Europe trips in just a few weeks. The trip which was earlier easy for common people to plan is now becoming out of reach for many people. The biggest reason for this is the increasing tension in the Middle East, which is directly impacting air travel.

In a Moneycontrol report, Sanva TravelTech (Travoint) manager Rahul Chadha said that earlier a 6-night trip to Paris and Switzerland used to cost around Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh for a couple. But now this package has increased to Rs 4.5 to 5 lakh. That means the overall expenditure has almost doubled. This change is especially visible in this summer season, when Indian travelers plan to visit Europe.

Flight ticket spoils the entire budget

The biggest reason for this inflation is the rapid increase in air fares. Earlier, a flight from Delhi to Paris was available for around Rs 55,000 to Rs 65,000, but now the same ticket has reached Rs 70,000 to Rs 80,000. Similarly, tickets to Zurich have also become very expensive. In some cases, tickets for big cities of Europe are going up to Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh per person. In such a situation, flight expenses alone are eating up a major part of the trip budget.

What is the role of the Middle East?

Actually, most of the cheap flights from India to Europe pass through the Middle East. Cities like Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi have long been serving as transit hubs. But in the current situation, some air routes in these areas have been affected. Airlines are having to change their routes due to security reasons.

long way, high cost

When flights change their routes, they have to cover more distance. This increases flight time and also increases fuel consumption. This has a direct impact on the ticket price. This means that passengers now have to pay more money to cover the same distance, and sometimes the travel time also increases.

Will this inflation last long?

Experts associated with the travel industry believe that this situation is not permanent. As the situation becomes normal, flight routes may become the same again and fares may also decline. However, at present passengers will have to make their plans keeping in mind the increased expenses. If you are planning a trip to Europe, then prepare a bigger budget than before. Also, expenses can be reduced to some extent by flexible dates and advance booking. Many people are also deciding to postpone their travel, so that prices can become a little normal.
