America did not get comfort even by imposing 50% tariff on India, similar appeal to Europe!

PM Modi and Trump

Increased tax on exports to America from India has been implemented by 50%. The impact of this decision of US President Donald Trump is going to be directly on India’s trade. Many important Indian industries, especially sectors related to export, are expecting huge losses from this decision. But the matter did not stop only here, now the US has started pressurizing European countries to put tight tariffs on India too.

Demand for support from Europe

The US has stated clearly that if Russia-Ukraine War is to be stopped, it is necessary to put pressure on countries like India. America feels that some policies of India are not in line with the strategy of Western countries. For this reason, the Trump administration wants Europe to open an economic front against India and make the business tariff tightened. Till now Europe has not taken any concrete steps against India, which has increased resentment in America. America believes that European countries should stand with it instead of being silent.

There has been a demand for heavy tariffs on India earlier

Earlier, American senator Lindsay Graham has also demanded to impose heavy tariffs on India from Europe. According to a Business Today report, Graham openly said that India is giving strength to Vladimir Putin’s war policy by purchasing oil from Russia. At that time, he appealed to European countries to put tariffs on India too.

Senator Graham then also criticized Europe in a strict tone. They said, “Ask Europe why you do not impose tariffs on India, who is buying oil from Russia and why not warning China, while he is the biggest buyer of Russian Crude Oil?” He also said that he feels that Donald Trump is the only leader who can stop this Russia-Ukraine war. Graham’s statement came to light when the Trump administration announced an additional tariff of 50% on India.
