President Draupadi Murmu reached Ayodhya, where the Governor and Chief Minister welcomed her. The mayor presented him the ‘key to the city’. On the way from the airport to the temple, the artists gave him a grand welcome with cultural presentations.

Ayodhya, 19 March. President Draupadi Murmu reached Ramnagari on Thursday, the first day of Chaitra Navratri. He was given a grand welcome here. His arrival in Ayodhya was full of historical and cultural dignity. Governor Anandi Ben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed him with a bouquet at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport. During this, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were also present.

Mayor Mahant Girish Pati Tripathi greeted the President and presented him the ‘key of the city’. This honor is considered to be the highest symbolic honor given to the guest by the city. It is noteworthy that this is the second visit of President Draupadi Murmu to Ayodhya.

Grand welcome from airport to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple

As soon as the President’s convoy left from Ayodhya Airport for Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, a festive scene was seen on the entire route. About 20 cultural stages were decorated on both sides of the road, where about 250 artists made the atmosphere devotional through Ramayana based presentations. Artists in Indian costumes enthralled the audience through programs imbued with Indian culture including welcome songs, bhajans, Awadhi-Bhojpuri folk songs and folk dances.

The people of Ayodhya also stood on the roadside and warmly welcomed the country’s first citizen with flowers and cheers. The President also greeted the people of Ayodhya. To make the program more grand, traditional presentations like Ramlila excerpts, tableaux, dhol-nagada, conch sound, Veda recitation and bhajan-kirtan were also organised, which gave a glimpse of the rich religious and cultural heritage of Ayodhya. There was an atmosphere of reverence, enthusiasm and joy everywhere in the decorated Ayodhya city in view of the arrival of the President.
