A surprising case has come to light from Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. There has been an incident with an jewelery shopkeeper here, which not only surprised them, but has also put a question mark on the online invoice system of the police. In the case, the scooty standing in Himachal has been challaned in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Even more surprising is that this challan of Scooty was in violation of not wearing a seat belt. While a two -wheeler like Scooty does not have a seat belt.
SMS on mobile
The victim shopkeeper Subhash said that he had an SMS on his mobile. In which it was told that the challan of your scooty (number: HP 56A 3920) has been made in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. According to Subhash, he never went to Saharanpur. He said, I thought someone jokingly, but when I saw the information about the invoice on the Internet, both my surprise and anxiety increased. In the details of the challan, it was clearly written that the car was caught in Saharanpur and the challan has been sent directly to the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate.
Subhash reached local police post with wife
Troubled by this peculiar situation, Subhash reached the local outpost Alampur with his wife. The policemen there told them that the matter did not come under his jurisdiction and he advised to contact Saharanpur District Police Administration.
This is not the first time that residents of Alampur have been victims of such systemic disturbances. Some time ago a local person’s motorcycle, standing outside his house, was challaned to Dharamshala. At that time too, the challan was canceled after a lot of efforts.
Questions arising from administration
It is clear from such cases that there are technical flaws in the challan system or incidents like cloning of the number plate are increasing. If a two -wheeler like Scooty can have a challan not to wear a seat belt, it is not only ridiculous, but also causes trouble for the general public. Subhash has appealed to the administration to investigate the matter in depth and such challans that unnecessarily harass people should be canceled immediately. He also said that if such false challans continue to happen frequently, then honest citizens will lose faith in the system.
What does law say
According to law experts, if a vehicle has been falsely challaned, the person concerned has the right to challenge the challan in the court of the concerned area. Also, the validity of the number plate in the RTO department can also be checked. It remains to be seen how Subhash gets relief from this false invoice and whether the administration takes the matter seriously to the culprits or the incident will also remain buried in a file.
