Mumbai: Actor Allu Arjun released a statement denying that he has a list of 42 strict rules for a brand manager. He called it baseless and even informed that legal action was taken against those spreading such allegations.
The controversy started after Kaveri Baruah, a brand manager, detailed her account of meeting the actor on a Sweekriti Talks podcast. In the talk, Baruah, who was reportedly part of Royal Enfield’s brand strategy team, said that they were given a list of 42 dos and don’ts. “Before meeting him, we had a note which had 42 dos and don’ts don’t look into sir’s eyes, don’t shake your hands,” said the brand manager.
She further talked about the complex chain of management. “They have manager ka manager ka manager. They are very strict,” said Baruah in the podcast. When she was asked to elaborate on the details. She stated, ““Mere ko kya pata? Aur nahi bataungi main (How would I know? (I won’t say anything else).”
The brand manager’s words went viral. It was widely discussed online. While some were shocked to know about the alleged “rules”, many questioned the authenticity of the brand manager’s statements.
Soon the actor’s team released a statement responding to the allegations. They also stated they were planning to fight the allegation in court. “Certain recent comments made about Mr. Allu Arjun are completely baseless and untrue. He has always conducted himself with the utmost dignity and honour. We take these false allegations seriously. Our legal team is initiating defamation proceedings against those responsible. We request everyone to refrain from spreading unverified information,” said the team.
Meanwhile, the virality of the content forced the brand manager to remove herself from all social media platforms, even LinkedIn. However, the discussion continued online.
