New Delhi: The Pentagon confirmed that three US fighter jets were downed in friendly fire in Kuwait on Monday, March 2. The Kuwaiti air defence mistakenly took down the US F-15 fighter jets, describing it as an apparent friendly fire incident.
There were six crew members on the three jets, and all successfully ejected, and now their conditions are stable, confirmed by the US Central Command.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence issued an official statement that several US military aircraft crashed on Monday, and all crew members were safe as the rescue operations were initiated immediately. The crew members were sent for medical evaluation, and the condition is now stable.
At 11:03 p.m. ET, March 1, three U.S. F-15E Strike Eagles flying in support of Operation Epic Fury went down over Kuwait due to an apparent friendly fire incident.
