All eyes on fate of Cameron Green, Venkatesh Iyer in IPL 2026 auction

New Delhi: Absence of familiar faces in Andre Russell, Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis from the IPL 2026 auction pool would allow franchises to go full throttle on the likes of Cameron Green and Venkatesh Iyer among others, when bidding begins in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Out of 1355 players registered, franchises have shortlisted 359 for the 77 available slots, including 31 overseas quota, which are for grabs in the auction.

Among the names on top of teams’ wish list would certainly be of Cameron Green, specifically after the Australian all-rounder confirmed he is fit to to bowl.

Sri Lanka’s Matheesha Pathirana could also generate interest as do Indian duo of Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi, who are the only two home-grown players in the lost of 40 with a maximum base price of Rs 2 crore.
