Delhi: The sale of liquor during Onam in Kerala has broken all records. There has been a tremendous increase in liquor sales in ten days this year compared to last year. A total of Rs 826 crore liquor sold during Onam days. Last year, liquor worth Rs 776 crore was sold during this period. On the day of Utradam alone, liquor worth Rs 137 crore was sold, while last year, Utradam was sold for 126 crores. More than one crore was sold in six shops.
Liquor worth Rs 67 lakh was also sold at the super premium shop of Manorama Junction. This is five times more than last year. Karunagalli sold the most at the outlet. Kollam Ashram and Adaple outlets stood second and third. Bavco MD Harshita Atuluri said that more outlets were opened for customers’ convenience and new brands were also launched in the market, which increased sales.
