Actor Akshaye Vinod Khanna has bought a luxury apartment in Mumbai’s Malabar Hill for ₹33.26 crore, adding his name to the buyers of one of South Mumbai’s most sought-after residential addresses. The deal was registered in September 2026, according to property registration documents that Square Yards reviewed on the website of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR).
What ₹33.26 crore gets you
The apartment is at 30 Little Gibbs, Malabar Hill Road. It has a carpet area of 2,341.39 sq ft. A balcony of 175.45 sq ft takes the total area to 2,516.84 sq ft. The property also comes with three parking units.
The registration documents show the buyer paid ₹1.99 crore in stamp duty and ₹30,000 in registration charges. For anyone tracking the cost of a luxury home in Mumbai, the price is only part of the outlay.
Why Malabar Hill draws buyers
Malabar Hill is known for its prime South Mumbai location, premium residences and serene surroundings. It sits along the Arabian Sea and is linked by roads such as Nepean Sea Road, Walkeshwar Road and Pedder Road. From there, Marine Drive, Nariman Point and Colaba are easy to reach.
Over the years, the neighbourhood has become an exclusive residential destination, marked by luxury apartment towers, high-end residences and established neighbourhoods. Khanna is the son of veteran actor Vinod Khanna and has built an identity of his own in Hindi cinema over a career spanning several decades. He is known for versatile performances and an understated screen presence. His films include Hulchul, Race, Gandhi, My Father, Dil Chahta Hai and Drishyam.
He has recently earned acclaim for playing Aurangzeb in the historical action film Chhaava and Rehman Dakait in the spy action thriller Dhurandhar. Both are among the highest-grossing Bollywood films.
