Akshay Kumar’s niece Simar Bhatia made her acting debut opposite Agastya Nanda in Ikkis. The film performed decently at the box office. After that, Simar finally got her second film. The newcomer will be seen in a romantic comedy opposite Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew. The rom-com will be directed by Adhiraj Bose, who worked as an assistant director on Emraan Hashmi’s Ek Thi Daayan and Meghna Gulzar’s Talvar. It will be his first feature film as a director, as he had earlier made several short films, including Naseeruddin Shah starrer Interior Cafe Night.

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, and ’s upcoming romantic comedy is said to be a heartwarming, character-driven drama that blends emotional beats with quirky and cinematic elements. Simar and Roshan’s pairing will be a fresh one in Bollywood.
Simar Bhatia’s second film will be produced by Aayush Maheshwari under his BLM Pictures banner. He had previously co-produced films like Dhak Dhak, Loop Lapeta and Yaariyan 2. The source informed the portal that the shooting for the film will begin in November 2026. The makers are planning to release the rom-com in theatres in mid-2027.
Who Is Simar Bhatia?
Simar Bhatia is a newcomer in Bollywood. She is the daughter of ’s sister Alka Bhatia. Her debut film, Ikkis, was directed by Sriram Raghavan. Despite the failure of the film, Simar received praise for her subtle performance in Dharmendra’s last film.
During the promotions of Ikkis, Simar Bhatia had penned an emotional note ahead of its release. A part of her caption read, “An incredibly special blessing.
