Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s box office performance is exceptional too. With Monday collection, the total Hindi net for the film is reportedly Rs 480+ crore in just 5 days. Up next, fans will be witnessing Akshay Kumar’s horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, his much-awaited collab with director Priyadarshan. In his recent interview, Akshay shared that he is happy that Dhurandhar 2 is getting good business for Hindi film industry.
Akshay Kumar on Dhurandhar 2’s massive response at box office
In an interview with IANS, “I am very happy that the film Durandhar is running so well and attracting such large audiences. This film has taken Indian cinema to a new level, which is very encouraging. Three weeks is usually sufficient, and here we are talking about 21 days… This is good for the industry and also gives you opportunities to do more interviews. If films don’t perform, there would be no platform for such interactions”
Addressing whether the film was designed as a counter to the current wave of action-heavy cinema, Akshay clarified that the team did not chase trends. Instead, their focus remained firmly on the strength of the story. He noted that while Dhurandhar caters largely to adult viewers, Bhooth Bangla is meant for a broader audience, including children and families. He shared, “Wo film realism par hai, wo action hai aur wo adult film hai ye family film hai. Hamare liye toh bohot achchii baat hai ki saari filmein chale, industry ke liye achi baat hai.”
(Translation: That film is rooted in realism, it’s an action film, and it’s meant for adults, whereas this is a family film. For us, it’s a very good thing if all kinds of films do well-it’s good for the industry.)

Dhurandhar 2 is continuing to perform exceptionally the box office, even on a Monday, the film has recorded impressive footfalls. According to latest reports, the movie’s total worldwide gross collection stands at 829.76 crore after six days (including paid previews on March 18.
