Akhanda 2 was initially slated for release on December 5, 2025. However, the premiere was delayed following a legal stay issued by the Madras High Court. The order came after Eros International filed a petition against 14 Reels Plus Entertainment over an unresolved financial dispute. The matter has since been cleared, allowing the film to proceed with its theatrical release on December 12.

The premiere screenings mark the first opportunity for audiences to experience the film in cinemas, and social media activity suggests a high level of engagement. While detailed critical reviews are yet to emerge, the posts from early viewers are already shaping the initial perception of Akhanda 2.

As the film prepares for its worldwide release on December 12, theaters across India and overseas are expected to see significant turnout, particularly given the anticipation surrounding Nandamuri Balakrishna’s return and the continuation of the story established in the 2021 original.
