AK-47: A Massive Budget Failure Story

The film Adarsha Kutumbam has become a classic example of how a massive budget and ambitious plans can fail to translate into cinematic success.

Sources say that Venenla Kishore’s character was initially kept and shot. But that was disappeared in final outcome.

Even Vennela Kishore was not informed about this. His character, which was expected to add comic relief and entertainment, seems to have disappeared along the way.

Brahmaji’s scenes, too, were significantly reduced as per sources.

The makers reportedly envisioned a film with a budget of around Rs 60 crore, but the expenditure eventually ballooned to nearly Rs 130 crore. Despite this enormous investment, the final product appears to have utilised only a fraction of its potential.

Adarsha Kutumbam stands as a disappointing example of how unchecked spending, questionable editing decisions, and underutilised talent can turn a promising project into a major budget failure.

Ultimately, audiences expect compelling storytelling, not just extravagant production costs which don’t translate on to the screen.

The film Adarsha Kutumbam, starring Venkatesh and Srinidhi Shetty and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, grossed Rs 51 crore worldwide by the end of its opening weekend, according to Sacnilk.
