Coimbatore. A crime took place late on Sunday night in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, which shook the entire city. An MBA student of a private college was kidnapped and gang-raped by three people near the airport, while her boyfriend was badly injured. According to the police, the incident occurred around 11 pm when the student was sitting in a car with her boyfriend. Then a gang of three youths reached there on a stolen two-wheeler and attacked both of them.

According to the police report, the attackers first beat up the student’s boyfriend and left him there. Then they forced the girl to sit on the bike and ran away from there. They took him to a secluded place behind a private college, about a kilometer away from the airport. There, all three took turns to rape her, threw her there without clothes and ran away. There was silence in the area after the incident, because no one was present around at that time.

Boyfriend gave information, search teams started searching

The injured youth somehow managed to call the police. Search teams were immediately dispatched and the rescue operation continued throughout the night. At around 4 in the morning, the student was found unconscious behind a private college. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Sitra area. According to doctors, the condition of the student is currently stable, but she is mentally very traumatized.

Police investigation found that the accused had stolen a two-wheeler from Kovilpalayam area before the incident. On this basis, the police have formed seven special teams which are scanning the surrounding CCTV footage. Officials say some suspects have been identified and arrests are expected soon.
