Air India’s New Scoot Partnership Opens 70 More Destinations for Travellers

Air India recently announced a new interline partnership with Scoot, the low-cost airline owned by Singapore Airlines. This move gives Air India passengers access to many more destinations across Southeast Asia, North Asia and Australia through simple connections in Singapore.

Over 70 New Destinations Now Within Reach

Scoot operates flights to more than 70 destinations in 18 countries. Many of these places were not covered by Air India’s earlier partnerships. Some of the new destinations travellers can now reach include:

  • Macau in China
  • Padang and Labuan Bajo in Indonesia
  • Multiple Malaysian cities like Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Langkawi, Ipoh, Kuantan, Miri, Sibu, Malacca and Kota Bharu
  • Davao and Iloilo City in the Philippines
  • Koh Samui, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai in Thailand
  • Nha Trang and Phu Quoc in Vietnam

These options open the door to quieter beach towns, lesser-known islands and emerging cities that were harder to reach earlier.

Simple Connections From India To Singapore

Travellers from India can fly directly to Singapore from Delhi, Mumbai or Chennai and then continue their journey with Scoot.

Because both airlines now offer Inter-Airline Through Check-In, passengers booking a single ticket will receive all their boarding passes at the start of the trip. Checked baggage can also be sent straight to the final destination, subject to local rules.

This makes the transfer process at Changi Airport much easier and avoids the usual stress of rechecking bags or waiting in long lines.

Why Air India Says This Matters

Air India’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nipun Aggarwal, said the airline is responding to rising travel demand across Asia. He noted that the partnership gives Indian travellers smoother access to far-flung places, whether they are exploring Malaysian rainforests, Indonesia’s islands or Vietnam’s beaches.

Scoot’s Take On The New Link

Scoot’s Chief Commercial Officer, Calvin Chan, welcomed the partnership and said the airline looks forward to introducing more Indian travellers to unique destinations across its network.

Air India’s Busy Singapore Schedule

Air India already operates 49 weekly flights to Singapore. This includes:

  • Three daily flights from Delhi
  • Two daily flights from Mumbai
  • Two daily flights from Chennai

The airline also has an existing codeshare with Singapore Airlines, offering connections to more than 60 destinations worldwide.

When And Where You Can Book These Routes

The new Air India–Scoot itineraries will be rolled out gradually across Air India’s website and mobile app, as well as through travel agents.

For frequent travellers in Asia, this partnership means more choices, more flexibility and easier access to destinations that were once harder to reach.
