Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh Meets President Murmu Before Retirement

New Delhi: Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, the outgoing Chief of Air Staff, paid a courtesy visit to President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday, just a day before his retirement.

His wife, Sarita Singh, accompanied him during the meeting.

Air Chief Marshal Singh is scheduled to retire on October 31, concluding a distinguished four-decade career with the Indian Air Force (IAF). Under his leadership, the IAF notably dismantled Pakistani terror hideouts during ‘Operation Sindoor’, a significant action that reinforced India’s stance against cross-border terrorism.

Earlier, the outgoing Air Chief had also met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on October 26, who extended warm wishes and acknowledged his invaluable contributions to the IAF and the nation. Rajnath Singh specifically commended Air Chief Marshal Singh for his exemplary leadership and the successful execution of ‘Operation Sindoor’, which strengthened the capabilities of the IAF.

On his final day, October 31, Air Chief Marshal Singh will pay his respects at the National War Memorial by laying a wreath. He will then inspect a ceremonial Guard of Honour at Air Force Station, New Delhi, before officially superannuating from service. He began his flying career on January 28, 1984, and remained deeply involved with fighter aircraft throughout his tenure. The IAF, under his guidance, consistently prioritized operational readiness and modern military capabilities to address evolving security challenges.

Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit is set to take over as the new Chief of the Air Staff on October 31.
