AI will now be taught in UP schools, a big change for 2 lakh students. Up Schools Ai Course Project Praveen Students Benefit

‘AI for All’ course is being started for students of classes 9 to 12 under Project Praveen in Uttar Pradesh. This initiative, to be implemented from 2026-27, will provide training in Artificial Intelligence and digital skills to more than 2 lakh students from more than 1200 schools.

In the rapidly changing world, Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI is no longer limited to just big companies or tech experts. In the coming times, AI will be needed in almost every field. Keeping this in view, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to make a major change in school education.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Artificial Intelligence is now being made a part of school vocational education under ‘Project Praveen’. On the initiative of Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, ‘AI for All’ course will be implemented compulsorily in all vocational training programs from classes 9 to 12.

This new arrangement will be implemented from the financial year 2026-27, in which a special 4-hour AI course will be included for students and trainers. Education experts are considering this as an important step towards adding technology to the school system of the state.

Free skill training is being provided under ‘Project Praveen’

Under the leadership of State Minister of State for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Kapil Dev Aggarwal, new initiatives are being continuously taken to connect the youth with employment.

‘Project Praveen’ is a 210-hour free skill development program for students of classes 9 to 12 of secondary schools. In this, students are given training in areas like IT, Beauty, Healthcare and Electronics.

Now by adding ‘AI for All’ in this program, students will also be given understanding of modern technology, so that they can be better prepared for employment after completing their studies.

Students of more than 1200 schools will get benefits

More than 2 lakh students studying in more than 1200 government and aided schools of the state will directly benefit from this initiative.

Through AI course, efforts will be made to develop many important skills in students, such as:

  • problem solving ability
  • creative thinking
  • data analysis
  • digital skills

Experts believe that these skills are considered very important for future jobs.

AI modules designed for different job roles

Customized AI modules have also been prepared for different areas keeping in mind the interest of the students and market demand.

These include IT Customer Care Executive, Tailoring, Healthcare, Digital Mitra and many other job roles. Through these modules, students will be able to understand how AI can be used in their work.

AI course will be mandatory for trainers also

To ensure quality training, it has been made mandatory for all trainers to first complete the ‘AI for All’ course.

Along with this, a one-day online workshop will also be organized on March 28, in which AI experts will give necessary information related to this new technology to the trainers. This workshop will be chaired by Dr. Pavitra Tandon (Assistant Director, IT).

Students will be prepared for future jobs

According to Mission Director Pulkit Khare, the inclusion of AI under Project Praveen can prove to be a major change in school education. This will provide students from classes 9 to 12 with a basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its practical uses.

The government believes that with this, the students of Uttar Pradesh will be better prepared for the technological challenges of the coming times and will also become capable of getting global level jobs.
