Ahaan Panday’s Onscreen Father Varun Badola Comments On Saiyaara’s Promotional Team, Says ‘They Went Overboard’

Actor Varun Badola, who is a popular name in the television industry, was recently seen in Mohit Suri’s romantic blockbuster movie Saiyaara. Varun Badola played the role of Ahaan Panday’s character Krish Kapoor’s father in the movie. Unlike his onscreen character, the veteran actor is known for his transparent and bold interviews, where he doesn’t hold himself from speaking about whatever is going on in his mind.

Varun Badola’s attention-demanding presence in the movie delighted his fans. During an interview with SCREEN, Varun talked about the success of Saiyaara and revealed that nobody thought the movie would become such a huge success. He shared that everyone assumed Saiyaara would earn just as much as the production cost, but on the third day of its release, everyone realised that the movie had done big at the box office. The actor further stated that he hasn’t watched Saiyaara yet.

Director Mohit Suri recently opened up about the movie’s success during a podcast and shared that all the response Saiyaara received was organic. Interestingly, Varun Badola contradicted Mohit’s statement and said, “By the third or fourth day, the film was being talked about. I saw the euphoria on Instagram. Log jo chudiyaan tod rahe hai, chaatiyaan peet rahe hai (People were breaking their bangles, beating themselves).”

He added, “I think the promotions team went a little overboard there, where people are going to see the film, putting IV drips. Those people must have been told to give content in some way; thank god, people didn’t get their legs broken and went crawling to see the film. It’s okay. We understand promoting the movie, but it’s good only up to a certain level. However, the movie cannot earn so much money just based on Instagram promotions. People have gone and seen the film, and they have loved it.”
