Agra murder case: Woman gets husband killed by lover, Tattoo exposes plot

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh’s Agra police unravelled a mysterious murder case as they discovered a half-burnt body on the night of April 1. A woman, along with her lover, allegedly murdered her husband, creating a panic in the Saiyan area.

It was quite difficult to identify the person as the face was burnt beyond recognition, but it was the tattoo on the forearm helped in recognising the person. It was Lokendra’s name.

His brother has filed a missing person complaint with the police, stating that he did not return home at night and was last seen with Mahesh Prajapati.

How police track the case?

Police formed five teams to crack down the case. They scanned CCTV footage from the area and used technical evidence to advance the investigation. Some liquor bottles and paper pieces were found near the crime scene. Then, the police joined the dots to the events which led to Lokendra’s murder.

Deputy Commissioner of Police for West Agra, Aditya Kumar said, “Police found pieces of paper at the crime scene, and shopkeepers in the area said a fruit seller uses such pieces of paper to serve his customers. QR codes on liquor bottles proved to be another piece of evidence. Based on them, CCTV cameras were scanned, and the accused were tracked. I wholeheartedly congratulate the teams for their swift response.”

The police took his wife, Mahesh Prajapati and his friend, Dharamveer, into custody after collecting evidence. The interrogation revealed the dark secret that led to Lokendra’s murder. Mahesh revealed to the cops that he had been in a relationship with Lokendra’s wife for a long time and Lokendra got to know about the same. He confronted his wife, after which the lovers planned to murder him.

How did lovers execute murder?

Mahesh revealed to the police all the events that happened on April 1, the day when Lokendra went missing. He said that when he left the home, his wife informed Mahesh and then, as per planning he met Lokendra on the way and invited him for a drink. The two knew each other well, so he agreed and later Dharamveer joined them.

They got the liquor and some food and started drinking in a field. After some time, they both choked Lokendrav and as he became unconscious, they poured petrol over his body, covered with bales of wheat and then set him on fire.
