The construction of Agra-Aligarh Green Field Expressway is going on at a fast pace. The same journey from Hathras to Agra, which has been carrying the burden of jam, single lane and slow speed for years, is now going to change its definition. The construction of the new Green Field Expressway has started and the connectivity of Uttar Pradesh is set to take a new leap.
Expressway will reduce distance and time consumption
After the construction of Agra-Aligarh Green Field Expressway, the time to travel from Hathras to Agra will be reduced to just 35 minutes. Whereas earlier it used to take about one and a half hours, now this journey will become very easy due to the high-speed lane.

64.9 kilometer long route, will pass through 66 villages
This expressway will be 64.9 km long and will connect 66 villages. Of these, 48 villages of Hathras district, 14 villages of Aligarh and 4 villages of Agra are included. The project will have the most impact on Hathras area, where the new road will decide the direction of development.
NHAI is doing construction, project will be completed in two phases
National Highway Authority (NHAI) is constructing this expressway in two phases.
- Phase 1: Infrastructure, leveling and major construction.
- Phase II: Road finishing, safety measures, signage and final touches
After completion, it will become the major high-speed connectivity corridor of the region.
Relief for passengers, ‘As much travel as toll’ system will be implemented
Closed tolling system will be implemented on this expressway. That is, only that much toll will be charged from the drivers as per the amount of time they use the expressway. This will make travel economical and will provide relief from paying unnecessary tolls.
Travel experience will change
After the opening of the expressway, the travelers going to Agra will get rid of the problems of slow speed, traffic and single lane on the old routes. High-speed lanes, limited entry-exit points and advanced security arrangements will make the journey even better.
Plan to open for traffic by December 2027
According to the plan, this expressway can be opened by December 2027. In Aligarh it will be connected to Delhi-Kanpur Highway. To strengthen it, a total of 49 overbridges, underpasses and railway overbridges (ROB) will also be constructed. This project will bring a new era of connectivity between Hathras, Aligarh and Agra.
