It is reported that due to computer software updates, some post offices in Delhi will remain closed for the general public on July 21, 2025. In a press release released on July 19, 2025, the Post Office Department said that these post offices will be kept closed to the general public. This heart department is upgrading its computer system to the new version (2.0) of its APT application.

The postal department said that the department is proud to announce the launch of Next Jane’s APT application, which is a big jump in our journey towards digital excellence and nation building. As part of this change initiative, the advance system will be implemented in the post offices of Delhi 21.07.2025. During this, Aliganj, Amar Colony, Andrewjganj, CGO Complex, Dargah Sharif, Defense Colony, District Court Complex Saket, East of Kailash Phase I, East of Kailash, Gautam Nagar, Golf Link, Gulmohar Park, Hari Nagar Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Jangpura, Kasturba Nagar, Krishna Market, Lodi Market, Lajapu Nagar, Malviya Nagar, MMTC-STC Colony, Nehru Nagar, ND South Extension-II, Panchsheel Enclave, Pragati Vihar, Pratap Market, Pushp Vihar, Sadiq Nagar, Safdarjung Air Port, Saket, Sant Nagar, Sarvodaya Enclave, South Malviya Nagar, Srinivaspuri, Srinivaspuri and Jeevan Nagar Beo will remain closed.
Why is the plan downtime necessary?
The Department of Posts said that to enable the seamless and secure transition on the advanced digital platform, a plant downtime has been set on 21.07.2025. On July 21, no public transaction will be done in the above post offices. This temporary suspension of services is necessary to facilitate data migration, system verification and configuration process, so that it can be ensured that the new system is smooth and efficiently implemented.
